Hey there beauty junkies, meet your new best friend: the beauty box. Like clothing-in-a-box
business models, beauty box subscription services are growing in number and in popularity.
Each one is a little different, some are themed while others offer a cornucopia of products.
Whichever you prefer, we’ve rounded up a few of our very favorites just for you.
The OG (millennial speak for, original) of beauty box subscriptions and the most well known.
Birch Box beauty products will give you the best value for your buck while offering a wide variety of well-known brands as well as their in-house brand. So, if you’re willing to try-on new products, this is the one for you. Each box is curated with you in mind based on information provided in the site’s online questionnaire. Annual subscriptions are only $10 a month. That’s doable. Right girls? Oh and, they offer Birch Box for Men too. Right on.
Lisa Sugar, founder of popsugar.com, an online lifestyle platform, created her own version of
beauty-in-a-box. With three box options available, customers can choose between a monthly
subscription: The Must Have, a seasonal box; The Limited Edition; or the Must Have It; an item-of-the-week featured on the Popsugar app. One click shopping will have it at your door in just a
few days. Subscription boxes contain a variety of goodies that are considered best-in-show for fashion, beauty, home, and food. Expect to pay $39.95 a month or a little less if you sign up for a 3-6 months.
This is a good one for the nail-obsessed. Created by former Starbuck’s executive, Jane Park,
Julep carries a line of private label nail polish, makeup and skin care products. Their
beauty-in-a box subscription is fully customizable so you can choose an all-polish or all-beauty
box or combo of the two; it’s totally up to you. And the nice thing is, all products are full size not
sample size. Julep’s wide range of products is offered to you for $24.99 a month or $19.99 with
a three month subscription. And if you’re in the Seattle area, be sure to stop by one of Julep’s
three boutique nail salons.
